Predatory and deceptive billing practices.I went to UT Emergency Center on 7/8/23 and paid them directly for services rendered. Over a year and a half later, I was shocked to be declined for a loan despite having excellent credit. When I pulled my credit report, I discovered that Wakefield & Associates had placed a $1,200 collection on my file from that same visit.I contacted the debt collector, and only then was I told that the hospital had billed me separately, while this third-party agency also submitted a separate charge. I was never informed of this second bill u2014 no calls, no letters, no transparency. Now my credit is damaged because of a corrupt, predatory medical billing system that punishes people despite timely payment. This is unethical, and the system needs reform.

I want this to serve as a WARNING to all that are falling victim and are being preyed upon by this beyond shameful business, to please check your Credit Reports Immediately. I was just notified by Experian, that a collections agency called Wakefield is now on my credit report, claiming to be on behalf of a Southeastern Physcians, not Emergency Physcians, just Southern Physcians in an fraudulent amount of $999? I've NEVER recieved any treatment from this group. This is NOT A VALID DEBT!!! I've been a Critical Care RN for over 20 years now, I did my homework, as I know all too well, creative billing has went from a shameful, deceitful common practice to now a full on Epidemic, infecting and destroying credit scores nation wide, apparently unchecked and unregulated. I have had a $0 deductible and copay health insurance plan with a Big Name Company since 2023 through Healthcare.gov due to being Native American, as well as being left completely disabled. I fell victim to a surgeon's malpractice, went in for a required, but still routine outpatient Minimally Invasive SI Fusion, instead woke to a shattered pelvis, cracked femur, left unable to walk. Upon review of my medical records. I discovered the surgeon, as well as the facility tried to hide the fact I coded on the table due to hemorrhaging blood. SInce, I've had to endure numerous surgeries, including a 7 hour long Total Pelvic Reconstruction surgery at a level 1 facility with a team of 8 surgeons and over 30 pieces of hardware placed( screws, plates, bolts, chains, etc....) trying to repair what my Pelvic Trauma Specialist Surgeon referred to as complete& utter destruction of my pelvis. The hospital where this was allowed to occur and went unreported, should be reported to CMS, Joint Commission, Licensing Revoked and surgeons, as well as ER and ALL licensed Healthcare providers responsible should be behind bars I just had my most recent surgery last month. This bill has to be a mistake, I find it hard to understand how it just popped up on my credit report with ZERO contact was attempted by any means to contact me??? The ONLY explanation and I sincerely hope that I am wrong, is this is some shady company that the butchering facility, Tristar Greenview Regional Hospital, including Graves Gilbert in Bowling Green, KY, as well as their providers are hiding behind, so I won't recognize them? They damaged and/or gravely injured so many people, lost an untold amount of Medical Malpractice cases, with many more untold # of cases are still continuing/in progress, with preserved Right to Sue. They actually filed bankruptcy. So, please check your Credit Reports and if you find either on your report IMMEDIATELY FILE A DISPUTE!.Either way, Wakefield needs to determine the validity of charges they are using to harm others with. I hope both Wakefield and Southeastern Physcians/Emergency Physcians, understand their shady, sneaky, low practices, actions/methods are a total disgrace. Shame on you!!!

I would give 0 stars if we could. Received a very falsified bill from them inflating charges for care my husband received. We immediately filed a dispute regarding this. I called for my husband as he works full time and I have a medical background and am more persistent about these types of things. I am authorized with the hospital as a person on our account as we are married. I spoke to the rep and she claimed she filed the dispute and told us we would receive a written response within 30 days. Fast forward to today- we reached out as we still have received NOTHING. Only for today's rep to claim they wouldn't even do the dispute because I called and not my husband. No notice of this or anything.UPDATE: After writing a formal dispute we received an awful response just stating er bills are higher than a physicians office and you still owe XYZ amount. They completely ignored the fact half of this was a billed service we DID NOT RECEIVE.

Received a collection bill ($678) from Wakefield & Associates for a service I did not receive from this company. This is on my credit and I'm not sure how these people got my information.
