My primary care March 2025 visit with Dr. Sushell Atree I let Him know how much I appreciated Him as a professional and as a friend.I have been using Dr. Atree since He started at WakeMed North. He is my primary Doctor, my friend and I trust Him. He and I are able to talk openly about my concerns and don't always agree BUT I listen to what He has to say and He listens to what I have to say. He has kept me alive for 82yrs. A TRUE PROFESSIONAL. THANKS Doctor Atree !!!

Dr. Monica Oei is professional, friendly and cares about you as her patient . She is thorough during her exams. She can also refer you to other doctors if needed. She is the best general practitioner I have had the pleasure of working with.

I typically have no issues with the care team here as well as the medical staff. But yesterday was the pinnacle of how I fell about the receptionists now. I came in for a 9 am appointment to see one of the best doctors I have ever had. I had just drove 2 hours and 30 minutes before my appointment from visiting family. I was not aware of the policy change of your PCP needing to be on your medicaid card. When arriving to the receptionist window, the female receptionist was incredibly rude. No good morning, no smile, very hostile. I handed her my insurance card and she looked at it and said We can't see you today. I asked why, when my insurance was accepted there. She claimed the PCP needed to be on the physical card and I understood this. She proceeded to go get the manager and he came to tell me the same thing. I began to become frustrated because I wish I was told before the appointment. I had recently seen them a month and a half ago with no issues! I was berated and told if I wanted to be seen, that I needed to call my insurance and have them change the PCP. The manager watched me on the phone call and kept checking his watch. He made me nervous, as I already have anxiety and I felt rushed. When my insurance agent fixed everything, he told me time was up and I could not be seen anymore, meanwhile I showed up 20 minutes before my appointment. I tried to gain a sense of understanding but the other receptionist proceeded to whisper and talk about me to another coworker, IN FRONT OF ME! Only until I started expressing why I was seeing the doctor yesterday, the team started to try to compromise and help me. They then tried to help to reschedule me when before I was told I need to leave. I had an anxiety attack and had to go to the urgent care to get it addressed. I want to say I would to come back to see my PCP, but not if the receptional staff are going to embarrass and berate people in public. The reception team needs more training in how to speak to patients no more the age, race and background because what they displayed yesterday was a disgrace.
