If you your loved one is in the u201cnew buildingu201d as the staff reference the Morris Hyman Critical Care Pavilion you practically have to walk a mile from the front registration/check-in desk at the main entrance since the hospital does not staff people there since the pandemic!!! If you have a disability of walking then please be prepare for the long walk or ask for wheelchair assistance. I have provided pictures of the walk as well.

Nursing staff here are all extremely polite and professional. However, when it comes to doing actual work, they all seem to pass the buck repeatedly. Not a single doctor here does a single scrap of work for a living. The doctors share the most unprofessional, unethical and lazy people I have ever had. The unfortunate pleasure of being alongside. A case manager and social workers here actively try to not do a single thing to help you. I'm convinced this hospital is designed to murder people. Despite the fact that no one assists you with absolutely anything, they repeatedly tried to administer me wrong medications, and filled my chart with incorrect information. I can only imagine the horrors that befall patients who can advocate for themselves. I've stayed here 3 weeks on this stay, and three other times this past year. Each time I stay here the experience gets worse and worse and worse. This past stay was a horrific nightmare that will haunt me until the end of my days. Stay away from this hospital at all costs.

My post is not intended to make light of the negative comments as perception of medical care is very personal. My overall experience has been great with the ER and especially the surgical teams. My mom has an acute appendicitis and just came out of surgery. I wanted to give a big shout-out to Maurice for providing excellent care after her surgery. His compassion and dedication put her at ease. When he noticed her lowering oxygen level, he taught her to use a breathing kit to build her lung capacity. When her blood pressure was too low to walk to the bathroom, he offered to help her to use a bedside stool. He is so attentive to patients needs. A top-notch and extremely likeable professional!! I am grateful for the care that he, the doctor/surgeon and the other nurses whom I cannot name provide. Also my sincere gratitude to the cheerful guard and front desk service at the main entrance of the hospital.

Do not go here you will be treated like a dollar sign. Piss poor patient treatment. I called to explain what Iu2019m going through to see if they can help and both operators on the phone were extremely rude and cut me off mid sentence. They will transfer you to inactive departments or to the wrong department to begin with. Extremely frustration experience to receive no actual help. The American health industry is freaking terrible and a joke.

This review is primarily about the staff on the 6 West floor. They were STELLAR! From the nurses and doctors, to the orderlies, to the housekeeping staff and food and nutrition teams - all of them were extremely kind, friendly and accommodating. My grandmother collapsed and was dealing with compression fractures in her spine and was rushed to the ER. She was admitted for almost two weeks and I visited her every day that she was there. As I am 7 months pregnant, the entire 6West team even went out of their way in ensuring MY comfort as well as my grandmother's. They'd bring extra pillows, blankets, snacks, etc. They took such good care of my grandmother, we almost didn't want to leave when she was finally cleared for discharge.I'd like to give a special shout out to her nurses: Melissa, Valerie, Rav, Lorena, Lalaine - they were so gentle with my grandma and would call her Mama and hold her hand at night when she was scared that she'd never be able to walk again. I have to say, the ER staff were also extremely friendly and helpful.Overall, I always highly recommend Washington Hospital - their staff is absolutely wonderful.
